Can we stop using Google?

Today when I was going through my favorite daily news paper Times of India I surprised to see that "Two Google searches generate about the same amount of CO2 as you would get from boiling a cup of tea”. It’s really a big problem now for the IT industry. When industry is try to GO GREEN by reducing the power consumption, visualizing the data centers, using less paper etc etc , it is quite impossible for the companies to advise their team not to use the God for developers the GOOGLE search. One Google search generates about 7g of CO2 where as boiling a kettle generates about 15g. and also Google operates huge data centers around the world that consume a great deal of power. So as a responsible citizen although we can't stop using Google what we can do is reduce the no of searches by saving the search result, not searching again and again for the same thing, remembering the frequently used web URL etc etc.

Namastee!
